About & Experience

I'm Alonso Vargas — a product leader and acquired founder based in Austin, Texas.

I've spent 20+ years identifying strategic inflection points in complex, physical-world industries and translating them into products that deliver measurable business outcomes. My track record spans QSR, grocery, hospitality, and healthcare — environments where AI meets operational reality and the gap between "technically possible" and "actually valuable" is where the real work happens.

At Flybuy (Radius Networks), I lead product strategy for an enterprise AI/ML platform powering predictive ETAs, real-time events, and operational intelligence across major QSR, grocery, and retail brands. I identified pre-arrival accuracy as the critical customer retention signal, architected the strategic pivot from pickup logistics to real-time operational intelligence, and led development of ML systems that improved forecast accuracy by 50–70%.

Before Flybuy, I founded Runtriz and led it for 17 years — from zero to serving 30M+ users annually and generating $100M+ in annual client revenue across top global hotels and casinos. I navigated the company through acquisition and led post-acquisition integration into Flybuy's AI and location ecosystem.

I also serve as Fractional CTO at CommonLight, where I lead AI strategy for a regulated health access platform — building AI-enabled discovery and verification systems across fragmented healthcare and social services ecosystems.

Currently, I'm exploring my next building-stage product leadership opportunity. I'm a Forbes Technology Council member and write about what happens when AI meets operational complexity in the real world.
